2009-2010 Junior/Senior Portrait Questions and Answers

Here is a step by step explanation of Junior/Senior portraits!

Sitting Fee
If you book your sitting during the month of June, the cost is only $15! This is our June special of the month this year! We want to get an early jump on junior and senior portraits.

Sittings fees are typically $25 and this allows for three outfit/setting changes! With a three pose sitting, we generally take two of the poses inside and then take the final pose outside. This can be changed at your discretion to have more outside or none outside.

The first pose will always be your drape/tux or drape/coat and tie photos. From there you can pick and choose from a large number of backdrops and props! We generally provide help in this area for you.

How Long Does A Sitting Generally Take?
We don't want you to feel rushed by any means. Because of that our sessions last between thirty minutes and one hour most of the time for a three-pose session. We generally book our session for an hour and a half to make sure that you have plenty of time to get any of the photos that you want taken!

Can I Bring Stuff From Home?
By all means, YES! We have had rocking chairs brought in, animals brought in, school sports jerseys, collegiate jerseys and much, much more. We want you to like your photos but we also want you to give the direction for your photos and the clothing and items you bring will help to determine that!

Trash the Dress? What is that?
A new fad is called "Trash the Dress" and we are open to photographing a session for you! "Trash the Dress" is where someone takes a very nice dress (wedding gown or prom dress) and pretty much has photos made in it that aren't typical photos like sitting in a water fountain or on the railroad tracks! It's being ungirly with girly clothes on really if that makes sense!

Where Can My Photos Be Taken Outside?
Another good question. We took most of the junior/senior photos outside last year in one of four places. The four places were the junction, Citizen's Park (across from the Citizen's Bank), at the fountain in front of First Baptist Church or in front of the old Oceola Hotel.

We can go anywhere you want to go as long as we can get permission to take photos at the requested site. We also can go to the trussel, railroad tracks, football field orjust about anywhere you can think of! Let us know your requests before you get here and we will do our best to work it out for your sitting!

What photo options are out there these days?
You can get anything from tote bags with photos on it to your basic prints. We currently offer prints from wallet size all the way to wall size, collage poster prints, buttons, car tags, tote bags, proof books, specialty albums, coffee table books, note cards, senior business cards, bag tags and much, much more!

Do I have to go with the school photographer for my portraits?
Geneva High School now has the photographer of choice option! While we won't be holding the contract this year for the high school photos, the school will honor our photos and use them if you wish! (Which of course we recommend!)

Other schools still make you go with the school photographer for your drape and coat photo. The other photo guys CANNOT make you pay to have this photo done! Many won't tell you this but they are required by each school to photograph the yearbook pose for free.

I know many girls may be saying something like "I already have my hair done for them so I might as well use them for my other poses too,"! We understand that time and money is involved. Because of this, we are more than happy to try and schedule you for photos with us on the same day as your appointment with them to make it easier for you! We want to keep your business local if it all possible and will work with you to do that.

I Work During the Day
We are more than happy to do your photos during the evening, on weekends or anytime you want to book them! We simply ask for your sitting fee deposit when you set a time outside of our normal hours of business in advance rather than on the day of your appointment. We have found that this keeps you from cancelling at the last minute!
